I'm worried about my personal statement, please can someone give me some opinions on it?

27 March 2013 - 1:15pm -- Anonymous

I will complete BSc Key Stage 2/3 Science Education with QTS in July 2013 and I expect to gain a 2:1. I have achieved the grade of ‘good’ (2) in both primary and secondary placements and I am determined to improve my practice to outstanding standards.  Due to the unique nature of the course I have taught all of primary national curriculum subjects to years 4, 5 and 6. On secondary placement I have taught biology, chemistry, physics and design and technology to years 7 and 8. I am a strong classroom practitioner in both primary and secondary schools, as tutor and mentor feedback confirms.

I'm worried about finding employment after my PGCE?

23 March 2013 - 9:08pm -- Anonymous

I am about to complete my PCET PGCE in My and am very worried about securing full time employment after my course. I feel like it is the be all and end all in my life at the moment and it is seriously getting me  down. I have applied to about 10 schools so far and the only interview that I have lined up is with the teaching agency who have completely the wrong idea about the QTS= QTLS change in the law. I am really worried that I won't find employment this year and be out of the loop.

Induction

23 January 2013 - 6:19pm -- Anonymous

I gained QTS and a PGCE in July 12 (secondary music).

As of yet I have still been unable to secure a post in a secondary school so am understaking daily supply in both primary and secondary.

Does the rule of having to stop after 16 months still apply if you have not started an induction period? (I have been doing supply since Sept 12)
