I have been teaching and head of department [for 12 yrs] at a 6th form college in Europe and will be relocating to the UK. I have applied to get QTS as I have QTS in my home country. Once I eventually obtain it, would I be considered as an NQT in the UK?

Next year is my NQT year, the school I'm at have offered me a job that involves teaching outside of my specialist subject. It is unsure yet to what degree but the official job title is under this other subject, which I have no knowledge in at all. Advice?
