I have a PGCE interview and have to prepare a micro teaching session of 10 minutes, has anyone got advice as to ideas to teach and how to carry out the session? thanks

Hi As this is for an interview the team will know that you are not experienced in teaching. They will be looking to assess your communication skills and your ability to explain ideas and concepts or skills in a way that is suitable for the target age group. As for what to teach it really does depend on what course you have applied for - if primary it could be a wide range of things but commonly reading and using texts suitable for primary pupils can be done if a secondary subject it really depends on the subject. Concentrate on communication skills and projecting yourself as you see yourself in a classroom, this gives interviewing teams something to assess. The Sage
