I have a BA honours degree in Primary Education, however I would like to steer towards special needs schools and I can't seem to find any information as to whether it is possible to complete your NQT year in a special needs school or not? Any answers would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Yes it is possible to complete the induction year in a special needs school. Depending on the size of the school, they may or may not be willing to take on a NQT, additionally, you would have to show some experience of working with SEN children. Most SEN teachers come to special schools having first worked in mainstream state schools. At present you cannot complete induction in a PRU (Pupil Referal Unit. James TES NQT Expert
