I am looking to teach History in the North East and I have written to schools across the area who have previously been active in the GTP however I have not had much luck. If anyone knows of any schools or has advice this would be much appreciated.

You could try using our School Search feature. If you choose a training institution near to where you want to do your GTP you can then see all the schools affiliated with that institution.

Sorry - I have just read your question in full - I was going to suggest that you just e-mail all the schools in your area, but it sounds like you have done this (or similar) already. This is how I managed to secure a school to do my GTP. Good luck!
I had a week before the deadline and I emailed loads of schools in the area. I was lucky and a few got back to me with positive responses and one decided to take me on. I'm at the school now in the first week or so of the GTP scheme, still finding my feet and getting all the cards on the table. It's a going to be a hectic year, but I'll enjoy the challenge I think...
