I'm an NQT and have been told twice at the end of the Easter term that everything is fine, that I'm certain to pass the year etc. I've had a difficult start to the summer term (which included a dreadful lesson observation), and I've now been signed off work by my GP for a couple of weeks. Does anyone know how this would impact on my induction year? Can I now suddenly be told I am in danger of failing when I've been told a few weeks back that all is fine. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sorry you are unwell. You can have up to 29 days off from inductyion year without impacting providing you are meeting the induction standards at the end of the final term. The LA would consider the amount of time you had off and the reasons and take a decision about whether or not the time impacted on your ability to meet the standards. If you have 30 or more days off or if the LA felt that by the end of the year you were not fully meeting the standards then you would be offered an extra term to complete induction.
As things have been going well there is no reaosn to suppose that you cannot meet the standards - it's a matter for the school and head in consultation with the LA to decide.
