Qualifications for overseas trained teacher
I am a Graduating teacher from India. I was recently granted Australian PR. The initial entry date is 14th January 2011 by which time i will have completed my Bachelor of Education program(the semester ends by 30th september). I have a Masters Degree in Zoology and have successfully cleared IELTS with an overall score of 8. I wish to pursue a teaching career in Australia and would greatly appreciate it if you could provide the necessary information required for an overseas trained teacher.

Hi I'm no expert in the requirements for gaining qualified teacher status in Australia. May I suggest that you contact the Australian Embassy to enquire about their rulkes and regulations. If you wish to teach in the UK then you may as an unqualified (for the UK) teacher for up to 4 years, provided you have a work permit for the UK. Then you must apply to have your status brought to our QTS ststus and this can be done on a UK scheme calle dthe OTT (Overseas Trained Teacher) scheme which is an on-the-job training scheme that allows you to demonstrate that you are meeting our QTS standards.
